“The Iron Trays and Catchall were born from the motivation to extend the existing line of candle-related AREAWARE + Josh Owen items. Like beautiful pedestals, these new designs enhance any items that they hold by playing an elegant supporting role. In considering the design, special attention was paid to the edge treatments of the vessels. The ‘folded detail’ present in all the objects was created to provide a lip that both allows fingers to easily pick up the items and also creates a subtle drop-shadow giving the pieces a look that they are ever so slightly levitating above the surface they are placed upon.
